Incumbent party-list
nominees now return to hot seat as the Commission on Elections (Comelec) starts
another round of scrutiny on their statements of assets, liabilities and net
worth (SALN) in preparation for the upcoming 2013 National Election. However,
more than seeking for hints of corruption on unexplained wealth in this action
is the probe for proper representation of the sector each nominee represents –
the quest to embody the real
marginalized and underrepresented sectors.

Party-list system in the Philippines: Is it still credible?
How To Lose 20 Pounds the Easiest But Safest Way?
Muffin top looks
good if it’s meant to be eaten and not hang from the belly. Size 24 seems
gorgeous if it doesn’t refer to a leg. Blubber-like curves are cute if they
belong to a sea lion. Body size is a choice but not all choices are good. GNC
understands that fact and gives everyone the chance to be the best they can be
through their GNC Diet Support Formulas.
Being fat doesn’t
mean ugliness, but that is certainly far from being the best. Face it, food is
the biggest temptation to the horizontally challenged and you are likely to
have fallen prey to reality. The next thing you’ll know, you’re already
flapping with bingo wings and jiggling with loose fats. And no matter what
exercise and muscle training you do, those bumps and abs will not appear as
long as a thick layer of human cushion guards your core.

More Teeth to Environmental Laws
Ombudsman Conchita
Carpio-Morales is taking leniency behind and gives more teeth to environmental
laws with the appointment of Deputy Ombudsman (DO) Gerard Mosquera as the new
Environmental Ombudsman.
In pursuant to a
2004 Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between then Ombudsman Simeon Marcelo and
the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), around 26 lawyers from the Office
of the Ombudsman will serve as the resurrected environmental team to
investigate and prosecute violators of covered laws, as well as non-implementation
of Philippine environmental standards. Also designated to support the team is
Atty. Raquel Rosario Cunanan-Marayag as Assistant Environmental Ombudsman and Officer-in-Charge
of the Public Assistance and Corruption Prevention Bureau.

Why Work for an OSHA-compliant Company?
Occupational
Safety and Health Act or OSHA is a priority certification for safety and health
regulation of companies. Choosing a compliant company is the best action
employees can offer themselves.
Employees have
the right to work safely and in accordance to standards set by law as much as
employers have the right to operate despite safety and health risks. The mutual
relationship between the two parties does not end on paychecks and company
revenues. It is built on the foundation of trust not only in the aspect of
return of income but in maintaining worry-free environment as well. For the
relationship to grow deeper towards higher productivity, it is important for
employers to ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act
(OSHA) that regulates risks in private companies and institutions whose natures
of industry are covered by the law.

FusionExcel Quantum Pendant: Fake or Real?
I’m wearing my
Fusion Excel quantum pendant with pride not because I had it for free while it
was sold outside for a little more than P10,000, but because it’s a precious memento from my
mom who returned to Him last 2011. Honestly, I find mine ugly and unfashionable
since it belonged to the first releases which were very basic in look (as in agimat-meets-jejemon look). The subsequent models were more gaudy and plushy,
though. Thanks to the embossed Swarovski crystals and various sizes and designs
they incorporated.

Where were you at 25?
I have lots of insecurities as I turn 25, probably because I had high hopes and dreams when I was younger. In other words, I failed to attain my visions for myself at this age. Inappropriately, as a result, I tend to see myself as piteous as my entire frustrations blow out of proportion. These frustrations clout my judgment and darken my acceptance for blessings I've been given.
Guiltily, I feel good self-pitying sometimes. It boils the dormant motivations hidden within me and makes me burst with fighting spirit just to end up wallowing in self-pity once again. It’s a vicious cycle, a tempting loop that no one should enter.
Expectations are the best set of personal standards if they stay on the realms of reality. But what if even realistic expectations turn out to be as implausible as wild dreams? It certainly is subjective and although other people regard me the other way around, my insecurities still pull me down to dampen, rotten spirit.
I’m bitter, but I think I have valid reasons. Let me enumerate the “before and after” of my one score and half a decade of existence.
