Human thirst for unique wedding invitation concepts is
unquenchable. Honestly though, I don’t think you have to be unique just to be
called fun and memorable. To add some quirkiness to your wedding, here are some
of the weird but fun ideas that you can adopt to have an absolutely memorable
big day.
1. Passport
Everybody is familiar with a passport. This makes the
idea of designing an invitation like a passport exciting. It’s just unexpected.
The pages will contain the couple's profile and
picture, entourage list, ceremony sequence, and reception program, together
with your vows. Guests are more likely to keep it because of its unique design.
The price varies but it is naturally more expensive.
2. Foldable fan
Once used as a souvenir containing sponsor promotions
in an American Football game, this useful invitation may just do some wonders
especially if your venue is outdoors. The only problem here is that it may not
be too functional as a fan. It’s still worth keeping though.
3. Product wrapper, packaging, or bottle
The list may go on forever but you won’t run out of ideas
to try. From candy and chocolate wrappers, potato chip packs, sauce and soda
bottles, canned goods to soap packages, you can easily find a perfect match for
your wedding day. Just think about your favorite food or stuff as a couple. It should
be something that will reflect your personalities.
A bottle may have the complete details of the wedding
day in a scroll inside it. A chocolate wrapper may have a couple of pages more
inside to contain all the necessary information. A box may contain pages or
prints on the box itself with an additional souvenir inside if your budget
permits it.
The downside of this is of course the price, but it
can also be a smart way to incorporate wedding invitation and souvenir in one
package. Your guests will surely love the style. Just don’t make them carry a
liter of soda with your invitation printed all over the label.
4. Shirt
Not necessarily in life size, you can use a shirt or
any form of cloth like a handkerchief. Printed (or stitched if you want)
lettering can occupy the entire space. It can go with a souvenir that will
match the invitation like a stuffed toy wearing it. The idea is cute, but just
don’t oblige your guests to wear them on your wedding day just to push the
uniqueness of the concept.
5. Magazine
If you have high budget ceiling, why not print your
wedding invitation like a magazine of some sort? You can print there your pre-wedding
pictures and personal messages to your guests. It should be fun if you’ll make
it really personal.
