Prescription Drugs to Fight Smoking Habit – Is It Safer?

Using prescription drugs to succeed over cigarette smoking cessation is a common recommendation of many medical practitioners. For severe nicotine withdrawal side effects, prescription drugs are advisable and may even be the only solutions left. However, learning how to stop smoking should also be learning how to do it the safest way. Is medicine the safest way to go?

As you battle addiction over cigarette, fighting it with another addiction on prescription medicine is a no-no. No one can solve a problem by creating another similar problem. Getting addicted over prescription drugs can even be a more expensive habit.

Before popping a tablet, ask your doctor first if it permanently solves the side effects of smoking cessation or if it can give you another addicting behavior. Some drugs also have more serious side effects than nicotine withdrawal itself.

Learning how to stop smoking will only make sense if you stop relying on something else to solve your prior problem.
